Roofing Options
Starting rates per square foot for material and installation. Your final quote depends on your roof's size, complexity and any repair work needed underneath.

Asphalt Shingles
Starts at $4.50 / sq ftAsphalt shingles are a common residential roofing option. They are cost effective, quick to install, and available in a wide range of colours and styles. FireSmart BC lists asphalt shingles among Class A fire rated roofing materials.

Metal Roofing
Starts at $8.00 / sq ftStanding seam metal roofing is a long term roofing option with minimal upkeep. FireSmart BC lists metal among Class A fire rated roofing materials. Unlike shingles, it has no granules to lose and no tabs to curl. A strong choice for homeowners looking for a long term roofing investment.

2-Ply SBS Roofing
Starts at $9.50 / sq ft2 ply SBS roofing is a modified bitumen system built for flat and low slope roofs. It is applied in multiple layers for added durability and waterproofing, making it a dependable choice for additions, garages and other low slope sections of your home.
What Is 2-Ply SBS?
SBS stands for styrene butadiene styrene, a rubber polymer blended into asphalt. The rubber gives the membrane flexibility in cold weather, which is why SBS is a common choice for low slope roofs. A 2 ply system is built in layers, typically a base sheet topped with a cap sheet. SBS membranes are usually heat welded with a torch, and there are other methods, including self adhered and cold applied systems. The right method depends on the roof, the weather and the location.
Roofing And Wildfire
FireSmart BC lists metal and asphalt shingles among Class A fire rated roofing materials, the highest class, and rates untreated wood shakes Class C, the lowest. The rating applies to the whole roof assembly, including the sheeting, drip edge and end caps, so the details matter. Read more in our post on non-combustible materials in the Okanagan.
